BLUEFIELD —
Steven Craig Sheets, 48, of 1677 Brushfork Road in Bluefield (Brushfork area), died Sunday, November 18, 2012, at his residence. Born October 23, 1964, in Camp Lejeune, N.C., he was the son of Wiley Eugene Sheets of Richlands, Va., and the late Shirley Delores Lane Sheets.
He was a technician for Fresenius with thirteen years service. Steven was a member of the Boissevain Baptist Church and attended the Fork Ridge House of Prayer. He was also a beekeeper and an avid fisherman.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one sister, Beth Billips.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Susan Joanne Thompson of Brushfork; his other mother, Dorothy Davis of Richlands, Va.; two stepdaughters, Jennifer Hall of Abingdon, Va., and Angela Groseclose and husband Jeff of Boissevain, Va.; two grandchildren, Brianna Boone and Kaeden Groseclose; one brother, Gary Sheets of Beckley; two sisters, Mary Sheets Turner of Bluefield and Jennifer Sheets Lockhart of Richlands, Va.; niece, Stephanie Billips of Richlands, Va.; nephew, Cecil Lockhart of Radford, Va.; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In keeping with Steven's wishes his body has been cremated. A Time of Sharing will be held at 2:00 p.m. today (Wednesday), November 21, 2012 at Boissevain Baptist Church in Boissevain with the Rev. Reginald Blakewood, the Rev. Eddie Hess, and the Rev. Darrell Long officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 921 West Neville Street, Beckley, WV 25801.
