CEDAR BLUFF, Va. —
Mr. Arnold Ray Shepherd, age 67, of the Kents Ridge Road section of Cedar Bluff, Va., passed away Saturday, December 24, 2011 in a Richlands, Va. hospital. He was born in Drill, Va. and was the son of the late Graham and Ollie Johnson Shepherd. Mr. Shepherd was a lifelong resident of the Cedar Bluff, Va. area and was a retired equipment operator of Keen Drilling. He was a veteran of the National Guard. He was a lifetime member of the Richlands Tabernacle Church.
His survivors are his wife, Georgia Mae Shepherd; two sons, Jonathan Ray Shepherd and wife, Tina of Richlands, Va., Joseph Wayne Shepherd and wife, Jennifer of Richlands, Va.; five sisters, Dellas Justice of Baptist Valley, Va., Stella Brewster of Baptist Valley, Va., Patricia Hardy of Alabama, Linda Wade of Shortt Gap, Va., Karen Ratliff of Kentucky; brothers, Mike Shepherd of Statesville, N.C., Doug Shepherd of Raven, Va., Matthew Shepherd of Shortt Gap, Va.; special grandson, Ashton Dylan Shepherd.
Funeral services for Mr. Arnold Ray Shepherd will be conducted Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. at the Richlands Tabernacle Church, Richlands, Va. with the Reverend Ralph Horton and the Reverend Bob Osborne officiating. Interment will follow at Johnson Cemetery, at Combs Ridge, Council, Va. Pallbearers will be Michael Paul Shepherd, Nathan Justice, Jason Shepherd James Brewster, Jody Brewster, Jimmy Ratliff, Timmy Ratliff, J.D. Horton, Johnny Hank Stiltner. Honorary Pallbearers are Jackie Shelton, Keith Varney, Randy Deel, Bruce Smith, Don Hale, Don Horton, Nuvale June Brown, Odel “Hoot” Wilson. Friends may call from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at the Richlands Tabernacle Church, 2505 3rd Street, Richlands, Va.
