WELCH —
Roger Lewis Riffe, age 68, of Welch, West Virginia, Passed away at his residence on February 15, 2013.
Roger was born July 20, 1944, in Steeles, W.Va., a son of the late Edgar and Hester Riffe. He retired from Welch Community Hospital in the Medical Records Department; he previously held a position at the Huff Creek Gas plant, also working for Norfolk and Western Railroad as well as a coal miner. Roger was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of the Pads Fork Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Rena Jo Miller.
Those left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 46 years, Shirley Lane Riffe of the home; a daughter, Crystal Hope Tuttle and husband Jesse Loyd Tuttle III of Miami, Fla.; and an aunt that was just like a sister, Carolyn Sibo of Hanover, W.Va.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, February 18, 2013, at 1 p.m. with the Reverend Dennis Lester and the Reverend Gary Walker officiating at the Fanning Funeral Home Chapel in Iaeger, W.Va. Burial will follow in the Pads Fork Church Cemetery, near Steeles, W.Va. Serving as pallbearers will be brothers of the Pads Fork Freewill Baptist Church and friends.
Friends may visit with the family at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, Sunday evening February 17, 2013, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger is assisting the Riffe family.
