LEBANON, Va. —
Elnor Mae McFadden, age 70, passed away Thursday morning, January 17, 2013 in Lebanon, Va. Her loving husband Wayne was in the room across from her at the Russell County Medical Center at the time of her passing.
Mrs. McFadden was born January 19, 1942 near Tip Top, Va. in Tazewell County, Va. and had been reared in Tip Top for most her youth. She was the daughter of the late Sam Hoops and the late Laura Lewis Hoops of Tip Top. In March of 1959 she married Wayne D. McFadden of Lebanon and she had resided in Lebanon ever since. She was a dear wife and nurturing mother whose life was a blessing to those who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters: Eula Johnson, Trula Johnson, Claira Williams and Janice Smith; two brothers: Buddy and Roy Hoops.
Survivors include husband: Wayne McFadden; daughter: Kathy McFadden, Fredericksburg, Va.; close family friend who was like another daughter: Jenessa Cooke and husband Steve, Redordo, Beach, Calif.; sons: Anthony McFadden and wife Barbara, Jason McFadden, all of Lebanon, Va.; Mark McFadden and wife Glenna, Abingdon, Va.; and Gary McFadden, Fredericksburg, Va.; grandchildren: Eric and Heather Puckett, and Travis and Samuel McFadden; great-grandchildren: Mollie Puckett, Tyler Puckett and Dominic Puckett; sister: Rosie Farmer, Tazewell, Va.; brother: C.E. (Buster) Hoops and wife Shelby, Tip Top.
The funeral service will be conducted 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2013 in the Combs Funeral Service chapel with the Rev. Jeff Kinder and the Rev. Grady McGlothlin officiating. Entombment will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2013 in Ketron Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Those attending are requested to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. to go in procession to the mausoleum. Serving as pallbearers will be Travis McFadden, Eric Puckett, Mike Holmes, Randy Smith, Alvin Smith, and David Wilburn. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Forrest Swan, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends 5 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
