BLUEFIELD, Va. —
Nancy White Williams Blankenship, of Bluefield, Virginia and a winter resident of Tampa, Florida, passed away Monday, January 7, 2013, in Tampa.
She was born in Richlands, Virginia and was the only child of the late Robert Lee (R.L.) and Maude Duncan Williams. She lived in Cedar Bluff, Virginia until relocating to Bluefield, Virginia in 1962. She was a class of 1947 graduate of Richlands High School. She attended Peace College in Raleigh, North Carolina and graduated from Virginia Intermont in Bristol, Virginia. Nancy taught 4th grade at Cedar Bluff Elementary until her daughter was born. She was a past member of Cedar Bluff Presbyterian Church, charter member of Fincastle Presbyterian Church and current member of Graham Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by: One daughter: Anne Karen Yost and husband, Larry of Tampa, Florida; two sons: A Kyle Blankenship and wife, Lisa of Amelia, Virginia, Robert W. Blankenship and wife, Vivian of Max Meadows, Virginia; seven grandchildren: Mia Walk-Hardy and husband, Rick of Portsmouth, Virginia, Lee D. Yost and wife, Kimberly of Tampa, Florida, Ashley Blankenship and Audrey Blankenship of Richmond, Virginia, Sara Blankenship and Rachel Blankenship of Max Meadows, Virginia, Kevin Sword of Draper, Virginia; seven great-grandchildren: Hayden Yost and Jordan Yost of Tampa, Florida, Anthony Morris, Zachary Morris, McKenzie Wright, Isaiah Blankenship and Isaac Smith of Max Meadows, Virginia. Several cousins, close friends and former 4th grade students also survive her.
Graveside services for Nancy White Williams Blankenship will be conducted Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum #4 at Claypool Hill, Virginia with Terry Morris and the Rev. William Lively officiating. Interment will follow.
