COVINGTON, Va. —
The Rev. H. Edward Nicholson, 82, of Covington, Va. , died , Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013.
Rev. Ed was born and raised in Charleston to Harold and Georgette Stevens Nicholson. He graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School in 1948. Rev. Ed was a graduate of Concord College where he met and later married Okie Lee Shrewsbury. After Concord, he earned his master of divinity degree from Colgate Rochester Crozer Seminary in Rochester, N.Y.
Over the years he was a pastor for several church in Virginia, including Edgemont Presbyterian Church in Covington, Va. and also the Covington Baptist Church.
Survivors include is wife, Okie Lee Shrewsbury Nicholson of Covington; two sons, Warren and Evie Nicholson of Charlottesville and Dr. David Nicholson of Westminster, Md.; one daughter, Cynthia and Chris Bono of Fishersville, Va.; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 in the Edgemont Presbyterian Church in Covington Va.
The interment will be made on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013 in the Fork Union Cemetery, Fort Union, Va.
