Lora Maria Lowe, 85, of Bluefield, W.Va., died Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center.
Born April 4, 1927 in Bluefield, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Charles Boyd Linkous and Sula Mae Perky Linkous. Mrs. Lowe was a lifelong resident of Bluefield and enjoyed cooking. She was of the Catholic faith. She loved her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry B. Lowe; one son, Charles Timothy Lowe; brothers, Lacy Linkous, Lon Linkous, Sid Linkous, Dave Linkous and Charlie Linkous; one sister, Margaret Sturdevant; and one sister-in-law, Geraldine Linkous.
Survivors include one daughter, Suzie Sellers of Lincolnton, N.C.; four grandchildren, Tina Marie Asbury, Charles Timothy Lowe Jr., Missy Baker and Christie Croye; seven great-grandchildren, Kayla Lewis, Matthew Baker, Chase Lowe, Sarah Baker, Grace Baker, Kylie Croye and Joey Croye; one niece, Debbie Hampton; and her four-legged companion and friend, her dog, Jake.
The family will receive friends at Mercer Funeral Home on Sunday, December 30, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Aaron Watkins officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens where Timmy Hampton, Kyle Croye, Charles Timothy Lowe Jr., Rob Baker, Chase Lowe, Joey Croye, Matthew Baker and Rodney Holcomb will serve as pallbearers.
The family requests that memorial contributions, if desired, be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
