ROANOKE, Va —
Joseph W. Earls Jr., 86, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 2, 2012.
He was retired from Exxon/Mobil after 35 years of service. He was a longtime member of Penn Forest Christian Church and served his country having been in General George S. Patton's army during World War II.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Joseph W. and Ailey Earls; a brother, Dudley Earls; and a sister, Peggy Sayers.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Faye H. Earls; four daughters, Connie L. Pennington and husband John, P. Gail Duncan and husband Leland, Jo Ellen Stanley and husband Jeff, Susan A. Fry and husband David; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Virginia (Bob) Carner, Mary (Gene) White, and Nancy (Ray) Colley; two brothers, Tommy (Jean) Earls and Kenneth Earls.
Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2012 at Oakey's South Chapel in Roanoke with his son-in-law, David Fry officiating. Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.
Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
