PRINCETON —
Bernard Washington Clower, 84, of 218 Village Green Circle in Princeton, died Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born September 30, 1928 in Crystal, W.Va., he was the son of the late Lon Clower and Bessie Perkins Clower.
He was a retired self employed carpenter and served in the U.S. Army National Guard. Bernard was a member of the Princeton Church of God and was acting Chaplain at Princeton Community Hospital.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his son, Bonnie Gibson Clower; one great-grandson, Dylan Mensler; two sisters, Gladys Taylor and Notrie Levy; and two brothers, Dave Clower and James Clower.
Survivors include his wife, Lakie Wood Clower of Princeton; one son, Bernard Richard Clower and wife Debbie of Statesville, N.C.; two stepchildren, Timothy Canaday and Sherry Harold; four grandchildren, Alan Clower and wife Nikki, Richard Clower, Scott Calfee and wife Clayton, and Susan Calfee Logan and husband Ryan; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Johnnie Clower and wife Maxine of Bluewell and Jimmy Clower and wife Pauline of Statesville, N.C.; and two sisters, Lois Cranfield and husband Harvey of Statesville, N.C., and Judy Gray and husband Norman of Pineville, W.Va.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 18, 2013 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Carson Gray and Pastor Fred Farley officiating. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Princeton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., today, Sunday, March 17, 2013.
