PORT DEPOSIT, Md. —
Thelma Lawson, 99, of Port Deposit, Maryland (formerly of Nemours, W.Va.), passed away Thursday, December 13, 2012 at her home in Port Deposit, Maryland. Born in Pocahontas, Va., she was the daughter of the late Guy Boone and Bessie Cochran Boone.
Thelma was a member of the Midway United Methodist Church in Yards, Va. for sixty-one years. Her hobbies included gardening and crocheting.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Peril Lawson; two brothers, Carl Boone and Glenn Boone; and two sisters, Hazel Reed and Virgie B. Edmonds.
Survivors include one daughter, Bessie White and husband Don of Port Deposit, Maryland and two grandchildren Jimmy and Stephanie White both of Deposit, Maryland.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rodriguez Funeral Home in Pocahontas, Va. with Pastor Daniel Ingram officiating. Internment will follow at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Bluefield, Va.
Friends may call Wednesday, December 19, 2012 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Rodriguez Funeral Home in Pocahontas, Va.
Pallbearers will be Butch Belcher, J.D. Boone, Marty Belcher, Randy Boone, Cracker Boone and Clarence Boone.
The Rodriguez Funeral Home of Pocahontas, Va. is serving the Lawson family.
