PRINCETON —
Rosa Virginia Goins, 80, of 587 Mt. Horeb Road in Princeton, died Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Princeton Community Hospital.
Born April 10, 1932 in Lovern, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late William Howard Walker and Edith Ella Gore Walker. Rosa was a member and Church Mother of the J.H. Easley Tabernacle in Princeton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Gamaliel Goins; one son, James Walter Goins Sr.; one grandson, Eric G. Goins; four brothers; and three sisters. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include one son, Floyd Junior Goins and wife Patricia (whom Rosa thought of as a daughter) of Princeton; two daughters, Rovena Lee of Princeton and Marilyn Goins (with whom she made her home) of Princeton; eight grandchildren, Angela Johnson, Sherry Peoples, Leon Chapman and wife Denise, James Goins Jr. and wife Stacey, Ledessa Burress and husband Cornell, Lamonya Goins, Lawrence Lee, Jr., and Kimberly Goins; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; special grandson who helped take care of her, Monte Lee of Princeton; and a special niece she thought of as a sister, Roberta Gore of Princeton.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Bishop Fred Brown, and Elder McKinley Price officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Park Cemetery in Princeton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until the service hour on Wednesday.
