BLUEFIELD —
Edith Mae Kahle, 88, of Bluefield, W.Va., passed away Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 following a brief illness. Born May 16, 1924 in White Gate, Va., she was a daughter of the late Harmon and Cora Woodyard.
Edith was a member of Bland Street United Methodist Church, and was an active and happy person her entire life. Her greatest joys were spending time with her grandchildren and all things golf.
In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hudgins “Doc” Kahle.
Survivors include her two daughters, Mary Sue Anderson of Bluefield, W.Va., and Becky Etters and her husband Bill of Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Brian Anderson and his wife Katie of Pittsburgh, Pa., Emily Carr and her husband Matt of Morgantown, W.Va.; and her brand new great-granddaughter, Lillian Mae Anderson.
Graveside services and entombment will be held Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Grandview Memory Gardens Cemetery in Bluefield, Va. with Craig Hammond officiating.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Mercer County Humane Society, 961 Shelter Road, Princeton, WV 24701.
