YUKON —
Janice Marie Shelton Hutchinson, age 69, of Yukon, W.Va., joined her heavenly father, surrounded by family on Thursday, November 22, 2012 after a long illness. She was at the home of her daughter, Tammy Campbell in Thompson Valley, Va.
Born September 3, 1943 in Raysal, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Woodrow and Tilda Jane Roberts Shelton. She was of the Pentecostal faith and attended Berwind Pentecostal Christian Center in Berwind, W.Va.
Mrs. Hutchinson liked to hunt and enjoyed cooking. The kind and compassionate care given by her caregivers, Paula Slate, Sandy Johnson, and Wendy of Total Home Health helped to make her days easier.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger Shelton and Freddie Shelton; two sisters, Alberta Atwell and an infant sister, Linda Shelton; one granddaughter, Joanna Marie Campbell; and two great-grandsons, infant David Wayne Deel II and infant David Lee Deel II.
She is survived by her husband, of forty-eight years, Billy Hutchinson; five daughters, Tammy Campbell and husband, Randy of Tazewell, Va. with whom she made her home the last year of her life, Mary Dillion and husband, Jerry of Abbs Valley, Va., Freda Lane and husband, Eddie of Sevierville, Tenn., Stephanie and Leann Hutchinson both of the home; five sons, Billy Ray Hutchinson Jr. and wife, Roberta of Iron Station, N.C., Frank Hutchinson and wife, Tammy of Taylorsville, N.C., Jamie Hutchinson and wife, Becky of Amsterdam, N.Y., Ronnie Hutchinson and wife, Patty of Blacksburg, S.C., and Lonnie Hutchinson of Yukon, W.Va.; six sisters, Sue Muncy and companion, Ken Stowers of Conover, N.C., Faye Rose and husband, Allen of Hickory, N.C., Kathy Matney and companion, John Charles of Tazewell, Va., Sheila Melton and husband, J.W. of Baptist Valley, VA, Brenda Smith and husband, Randall of Archdale, NC, and Yolanda Spencer and husband Steven of Hickory, N.C.; three brothers, Charlie Shelton and wife, Charlotte and Woodrow Shelton Jr. both of War, W.Va., and Jay Shelton of Hickory, N.C.; twenty-four grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Berwind Pentecostal Christian Center at Berwind, W.Va. with Pastor Randy Campbell and Minister Wayne Osborne officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery at Bluewell, W.Va.
The family will receive friends at the church after 6 p.m. Saturday, November 24, 2012.
