ELGOOD —
Jerry Wayne Nowlin Sr., 63, of the Cheesy Creek Road in Elgood, died Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born March 8, 1949 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Charles Frank Nowlin and Beatrice Evelyn Harmon.
He was a retired construction heavy equipment operator and a U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam from 1967 to 1969. Jerry was an active member of the Southern Brotherhood Motorcycle Club in Princeton serving as Vice President.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Sabrina Dawn Wiley.
Survivors include his wife, Olivia Marcheta Hill Nowlin of Elgood; two daughters, Angela Coleman and husband Bennie of Bluefield and Sabrina Martin of Elgood; two sons, Jerry W. Nowlin Jr. and Robert Rivera both of Bluefield; two grandchildren, Shelby Lynn Martin and David Ray Martin both of Elgood; five brothers, Charles Nowlin and wife Clella and Donnie Nowlin and wife Jeannie all of Princeton, Lawrence “Buckie” Nowlin of Sanford, N.C., Frankie Nowlin and wife Tammy of Camp Creek, and Richard Nowlin of Elgood; three sisters, Jean Moreau of Louisiana, Vicky Dean of Sanford, N.C. and Shirley Owens and husband David of New York; and his extended family, members of the Southern Brotherhood Motorcycle Club of Princeton.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 28, 2013 at Fredeking Funeral Service in Oakvale with Pastor Delmar Stilwell officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until the service hour on Monday. At the request of the deceased, cremation will follow the funeral service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children, 1900 Richmond Rd., Lexington, KY 40502.
