TAZEWELL, Va. —
Rachel Virginia Gwinn Huff, 91, of Tazewell, Va., and formerly of Bluefield, W.Va., died Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Heritage Hall in Tazewell.
She was born March 17, 1921 in Milton, W.Va. She grew up in the home of her aunt and uncle, Ruby and William Thompson in Bluefield. She was a graduate of Beaver High School and attended business school in Bluefield. Mrs. Huff was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, a member of Fincastle Country Club Lady's Golf Association and Quota Club. Mrs. Huff loved her dogs; they always made her laugh and smile.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph H. Huff, former owner of Huff Printing of Bluefield, W.Va.
Survivors include her daughter, Sheila H. O'Briant of Rosedale, Va.; one grandson, Ronald Luther O'Briant and wife Tanya of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two great-grandchildren, Zackary Halen O'Briant and Katelyn Marie O'Briant of Myrtle Beach; special relative, Allen Lambert and wife Sandy of Roanoke, Va.; and special guardian, Nancy Caudill and husband Darryl of North Tazewell, Va.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Hendrickson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until the service hour. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
