RADFORD, Va. —
Daisy Aretta Wade Mitchell, 76, of Radford and formerly of Glen Lyn, Va., passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kyle and Flora Wade; her husband of 52 years, Raymond Cecil Mitchell; son, Curtis Wayne Mitchell; daughter, Betty Jean Mitchell; sisters, Mildred Haywood and Lena Basham; brothers, Sonny (Gene) Wade and Lee Wade.
She is survived by a daughter, Melissa Mitchell of Radford; son, Ralph Mitchell and wife Rita of Rich Creek, Va.; daughter-in-law, Rachel Mitchell of Roanoke; brother-in-law, Tommy Mitchell; sister-in-law, Loreen Reed; and grandchildren who were the love of her life: Samantha Mitchell of the home, Dustin Bain and fiancée Jocelyn St.Clair of Roanoke, Lynn Bain of Radford and boyfriend Dusty Dishon, Kyle Mitchell of Roanoke, Christina Mitchell of Rich Creek; three very special boys, David Wade, Anthony Bain, and Brandon Bain; brothers, Owen Tee Wade and wife Mary of Dublin, Walter (Stan) Wade and wife Dorothy of Oakvale, W.Va.; sister, Hazel Pollard of Glen Lynn, Va.; aunts, Virgie Kingrea of Dublin and Zella Blankenship of South Carolina; life-long friend, Barbara McDaniel of Peterstown W.Va.; friend, Drema Thompson of Christiansburg, Va.; two very special nephews by marriage, Junior Terry and Dennis Lambert.
Daisy was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Narrows and of Glen Lynn Christian Church.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 9, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. at Broyles-Shrewsbury in Peterstown W.Va.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 10 at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Church in Alum Ridge Floyd, Va. with the Reverend Roy Turpin officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
