BLUEFIELD —
Aubrey "Bill" William Wagner, age 69, of 340 Victory Road, Bluefield, W.Va., passed away on January 5, 2013 at his residence.
Born Nov. 19, 1943 at Maybeury, W.Va., he served in the U.S. Army 509th Airborne Division for 3 years. He was a retiree from the United States Postal Service after 27 years of service and was an employee of Sears at the Mercer Mall for 20 years. He was an active member of Brushfork Baptist Church for 37 years where he served as a deacon for 30 years. Aubrey "Bill" Wagner was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.
He was preceded in death by parents, Dexter William Wagner and Helen Marie Johnson Wagner of Bluefield, W.Va.; and two sons, Tommy Allen Wagner of Bluefield and Joseph William Wagner of Lexington, N.C.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Jean Wagner of the home; a son, Billy Wayne Wagner and wife Jean Ann of Hardy, Va.; two daughters: Stacy Christina Jones and husband Jon of Bluefield, Va. and Krystal Gayle Leedy and husband Jonce of Falls Mills, Va.; daughter-in-law: Lisa Fulford Wagner of Lexington, N.C.; mother-in-law: Thelma Fields of Bluefield, W.Va.; three brothers: Roger Wagner and wife Dottie of Falls Mills, Va., Ted Wagner of Bradendon, Fla., Clayton Wagner and wife Pon of Bluefield, W.Va.; two sisters: Mary Lou Howard and husband Charlie of Bluefield, W.Va. and Phyllis Watkins and husband David of Roanoke, Va.; twelve grandchildren: Jonathon Wagner and wife Whitney, Brandon Wagner, Cameron Wagner, Christian Wagner, Autumn Wagner, Jacob Reynolds, Lauren Reynolds, Brady Jones, Aimee Jones, Ty Jones, Andrew Leedy, Alexis Leedy.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, W.Va. on Monday, January 7, 2013.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with graveside service following at Woodlawn Cemetery in Bluewell, W.Va. The Rev. Jim Drake will be officiating. The West Virginia Honor Guard and Mercer County Veteran’s Council will conduct Military Graveside Rites.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jonathon Wagner, Brandon Wagner, Cameron Wagner, Christian Wagner and sons-in-law, Jonce Leedy and Jon Jones.
