ELKHORN —
Clarence David “Dean” Music, age 62, of 63 Houston Hill, Elkhorn (PO Box 26, Northfork), passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
Born on February 9, 1950 in Mingo County, he was a son of Cynthia Justus of Fairfield Lane and the late Clarence Lane Music.
He was a retired coal miner and truck driver and had lived in McDowell County most of his life.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louella Mae Christian Music; and stepmother, Martha Lane.
Survivors include his mother, Cynthia Justus of Fairfield, Pa.; three daughters, Angela Music of Elkhorn, Anita Music Blanton of Radford, Va., and Patricia Havens of Maybeury; five grandchildren, Brittany Blankenship, Kaylee Blanton, Joshua Blanton, Trey Havens and David Havens; five brothers, Bobby Music, Jerry Lane, Sammy Lane, Jimmy Lane, and Red Musick; three sisters, Ilene Lane, Ilene Graham, and Janie Justus; special sister-in-law, Mary Napier and her son, Donald, who was like a son to Clarence.
Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ark of Safety Church in Roderfield with Pastor Martin West and Pastor Joey Proffitt officiating. Burial followed at the Christian Cemetery in Roderfield with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Friends called on Sunday from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at the church.
