VINTON, Va. —
Nellie Maxine Brown, 77, of 739 Shallon Circle, Vinton, Va., formerly of Princeton, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013. Born Sept. 6, 1935 in Kenova, she was the daughter of the late Marion Bellomy and Shirley Workman Bellomy.
Nellie was a homemaker and a member of the Willowbrook Baptist Church in Princeton. She made her home in Princeton from 1974 to 2000, moving to Roanoke, Va. to be near her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Delbert Brown Sr.
Survivors include one sister, Mary O'Dell Smith and husband Roy of Summerset, Ky.; one daughter, Diana Lynn Turner and husband Curtis of Vinton, Va.; three sons, Randy Dale Brown and wife Sherri of New Bern, N.C., Richard Scott Brown and fiancée Georgia Lewis of Roanoke, Va., and George Delbert Brown Jr. and wife Layna of Rocky Gap, Va.; eight grandchildren, Sherrie Lynn Brown, Christopher Turner, Brian Brown and wife Dallas, Jeffrey Brown and wife Stephanie, Jessica Brown, Paige Brown, Lexie Brown, and Savannah Lewis; and five great-grandchildren, Ashton LaBrode, Myles LaBrode, Brooke Brown, Nathaniel Brown and Chloe Brown.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Emory Marchant officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Brown, Jeffrey Brown, Chris Turner, Kenny Goins and Jeff Goins.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., today (Friday), Jan. 4, 2013 and from noon until the service hour on Saturday.
