BLUFFTON, S.C. —
Mary B. Williams, age 89, of Bluffton, S.C., formerly of Peterstown, W.Va., passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Coastal Carolina Medical Center, Hardeeville, S.C. Born May 1, 1923 in Giles County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Henry O and Lelia Ferguson Buckland.
Mary had worked in the Health and Welfare Administration for the Meat Cutters Union in Audubon, New Jersey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis P. Williams; three sisters, Ruby Lawrence, Ernestine Lawrence and Norris “Pretty” Dillon and four brothers, Alfred Buckland, James “Bus” Buckland, Garfield Buckland and Henry O. Buckland Jr.
Survivors include one son, Lewis Williams and wife Estelle of Bluffton, S.C.; one brother, Donald Lee Buckland and wife Linda of Dover, Del.; stepdaughter, Lebata Sue Norris of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two sisters-in-law, Ella Mae Williams of Peterstown, W.Va. and Hazel Williams of Newport News, Va.; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 3:00 p.m., Monday, October 8, 2012 at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel, Peterstown, W.Va. with Barry Harper officiating. Burial will follow in the Peterstown Cemetery, Giles County, Va. Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
