SPOKANE, Wash. —
Thomas Franklin Hopkins Jr., 62, of Spokane, Washington, passed away on Friday, August 17, 2012, at the Hospice House of Spokane.
Tommy was born on March 4, 1950 in Welch, W.Va. He was a graduate of Gary High School, worked as a mechanic with U.S. Steel, Gary, W.Va., and later as a licensed barber in Spokane.
He was preceded in death by his parents .Thomas Franklin and Wessie M. Hopkins.
He is survived by a daughter Joy Toms and two grandchildren, Eden, N.C.; two sisters, Shirley Hooker, Charleston, W.Va. and Carolyn Shuford, Weaverville, N.C.; three nephews, and companion Theresa Simon of Spokane. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
His final request was to donate his body to medical research.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
