Myrtle Marie Bailey, 87, of Bull Creek, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 3, 2012, at Bull Creek, following a long illness.
Myrtle was born February 22, 1925 at Litwar, W.Va., the daughter of the late Henry McKinley and Gracie Angle Workman. She was the last surviving member of her original family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Glenda Bailey; brothers, Joseph Workman, and William “Bill” Workman; sister, Cora Murdock; and grandson, Nicholas Akers.
Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Zink Bailey Sr., of the home; three daughters, Madalene and the late Harold E. Cline of Bull Creek, Freda Birchfield and husband Steven of Bull Creek, and Wilma Prevento and husband Darrell of North Welch, W.Va.; two sons, Gene Bailey and wife Barbara of Speedway, W.Va., and Zink Bailey Jr. of the home; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Kathy Workman of Roanoke, Ala.; son-in-law, Lawyer Bailey Jr., of Bull Creek, W.Va.; and two caregivers, Thelma Dotson and Eunice Prater of Stopover, Ky.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, November 6th, 2012, at 1 o'clock, with Pastor Michael Tye and Brother Leslie Blankenship officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger. Burial will follow in the Bailey Cemetery at the right hand fork of Bull Creek, W.Va. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons.
Friends may visit with the family at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, Tuesday, November 6th, 2012, after 11 a.m., until the time of service.
Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger is assisting the Bailey family.
