PRINCETON —
Earl Calvin Hines, age 93, of Glenwood Retirement Village, formerly of Browning Lambert Mountain, Rock, W.Va., passed away early Sunday morning, Sept. 16, 2012 at Glenwood Retirement Village. Born Oct. 21, 1918 in McComas, W.Va., he was the son of the late Kelly and Victoria Hines.
Mr. Hines was a resident of Rock, W.Va. for over eighty years. He retired as a custodian at Montcalm Elementary with over thirty years of service. He never missed a day of work and his favorite past time was farming.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vada Hines and his only child, Calvin Eugene Hines.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Carolyn Hamilton, Calvin Hines Jr. and wife Leslie, Robert Hines; five great-grandchildren, Derek Hines, Ryan Hamilton, Cynthia Hines, Amber Hines, and Cortney Hamilton; one daughter-in-law, Patricia Hines.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell, W.Va. with the Rev. Oliver Hill officiating. Friends may call Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until time of services at 6:00 p.m.
Graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, W.Va. with the Rev. Oliver Hill officiating. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, W.Va. by 10:30 a.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends, Calvin Hines Jr., Robert Hines, Derek Hines, Ryan Hamilton, Brad Wiley, and Steve Hamilton. Tracy Lane will serve as honorary pallbearer.
