The Bluefield Lady Beavers improved to 2-2 on the young season with a 70-33 win over the Greenbrier West Spartans, Thursday night at the BHS gymnasium.
Eleven Lady Beavers got into the scoring column led by Destiney Sims with 17 and Jesslyn Fullerton with 10. Rachel Redden paced the Lady Cavaliers with 10.
Bluefield is off until next Friday when they travel to Liberty-Raleigh.

PRINCETON — Emily Covey came off the bench and hit a three at the buzzer to give Greater Beckley a 40-39 win over Mercer Christian, Thursday night.
Jaime Brown led MCA with a game-high 33 points and nine steals, while Beka Graham and Liz Graham topped the Greater Beckley scoring column with 13 apiece. Brooke Bradford had a game-high 13 rebounds for MCA and teammate Sammie Goins pulled down 10.
Mercer Christian Academy hosts Seneca Trail Christian School on Monday afternoon at the MCA Gym.

NEW RICHMOND — Brett Bowling scorched the nets for 28 points to lead the Wyoming East Warriors past the PikeView Panthers in the season-opening game for both teams.
Zach Meadows led PikeView with 19 points and Logan McKinney addd 13.
PikeView plays Friday at Bluefield, while Wyoming East hosts Woodrow Wilson.
Wyoming East won the JV game 72-56.

COVINGTON, Va. — The Summers County Bobcats got 35 points from Ta’Ron Ayers and rolled to a 103-83 win over Covington in the season opener for both teams.
T.J. Smith popped in 17, Matt Ryan 16 and Josh Graham 15 for the Bobcats. RaQuawn Matthews led Covington with 17.
Summers County hosts Shady Spring, Saturday.
