PRINCETON —
Mercer Christian Academy’s first invitational basketball tournament of the decade concluded Saturday with both the boys and girls from MCA winning championships.
In the girls’ game, the Lady Cavaliers (2-0) held Seneca Christian to two first-half points and played several bench players in the remainder of the game, collecting a 38-25 victory.
Jamie Brown had 22 points, seven steals, six rebounds and five assists to lead Mercer Christian.
London Taylor had six points, six rebounds, two assists and a steal for the Lady Cavaliers. Brooke Bradford added four points, six rebounds and a pair of steals.
Leah Billings had four points and three rebounds, and center Sami Goings provided two points, eight rebounds and two steals. The Lady Blazers from Greenbrier County got 14 points from Sarah Burdette.
The Mercer Christian girls will host Greater Beckley Christian School on Dec. 6.

PRINCETON — Jonathan Easter scored 16 points and Caleb Janning added 14, leading Mercer Christian to the boys championship of the MCA Tip-Off Classic.
Allen Jones led Appalachian Christian with 14 points.
Mercer Christian (2-0) will visit Jefferson Christian on Wednesday.
