CHARLESTON —
Playing with surgical precision, Princeton put together a solid 32-minute effort. The result, an impressive 74-45 basketball victory at Capital.
With Aaron Ferguson and Ryan Meadows combining for 17 first quarter points the Tigers built a 19-12 lead after one period.
In the second quarter, Princeton played defense like five German shepherds in a used car lot.
The Tigers held the Cougars to three points in the period and Princeton took a 35-15 lead to the locker room at intermission.
In the second half Princeton’s lead would grow to 30 points and the Tigers comfortably packed away its 14th win in 18 starts.
Princeton had a balanced attack with Meadows leading all scorers with 24. He was joined in double figures by Ferguson with 12, Kyle Caron added 11 and Derek Jennelle scored 10. Hunter Walters added nine.
For Capital, 7-13, Carrington Morris scored a game-high 27 points.
The Tigers return to action Saturday at home against Oak Hill.
