Ryan Meadows eclipsed the 1,000-point scoring barrier with a three midway through the fourth quarter, highlighting Princeton’s 66-47 victory at Cabell Midland Saturday night.
Playing their third game in as many nights, Princeton started quickly. Derek Jennelle hit three first-quarter threes, and the Tigers led 23-12 after one period.
Midway through the second quarter, Stephen Matthews sparked a 9-0 Cabell Midland run and the Knights climbed to within four, 29-25, with two minutes left in the half.
Hunter Walters then dialed in with a pair of long-distance connections to restore Princeton’s lead to double figures, 35-25. Aaron Ferguson hit a stickback just before the halftime buzzer, and Princeton led 37-25 at the break.
In the second half, the Tigers’ lead would grow as many as 24, 66-42 in the waning minutes, and Princeton comfortably packed away its sixth straight win.
Meadows led all scorers with 20, Jennelle added 14, Ferguson 11 and Walters 10.
For Cabell Midland (3-5), Matthew showed the way with 12 points.
Princeton (7-1) returns to action Tuesday at home against Huntington.
