EAST RIVER —
Courtney Wallace and Zach Hampton scored a goal apiece, but a quick start by Oak Hill was too much for Bluefield, as the Red Devils defeated the Beavers 4-2 on Thursday night the East River Soccer Complex.
Oak Hill took a 2-0 lead eight minutes into the game, and played even with Bluefield the rest of the way.
Devon Williams had an assist for Bluefield, which has road games next week at Princeton and James Monroe.
Princeton 4, Capital 1
CHARLESTON — Nick Branson and Mashi Johnson each scored twice as Princeton earned a road victory over Capital.
Johnson, Branson and Cory Fulknier each had an assist for Princeton, which had 16 shots on goal to just give for Capital.
Girls Soccer
PikeView 3, Nicholas Co. 0
GARDNER — Laura Hill, Samantha Wood and Mariah Farley each scored as PikeView defeated Nicholas County.
Farley added an assist. Amanda Pressley shutout Nicholas County in goal.
Next up for PikeView (5-0) is a road trip to Herbert Hoover Saturday. Kickoff is at noon for the boys and 2 p.m. for the girls.

Tigers win tri-match
BLUEFIELD — Medalist Jack Hickman fired a 37 to led Princeton past Bluefield and Montcalm to earn a tri-match victory at the Bluefield Elks Golf Club.
Alex Smth led Bluefield with 41, while Brandon Kirby pace Montcalm with a 45.
Bluefield will host Independence and Pikeview on Tuesday.

Twin Valley 3, Richlands 0
PILGRIM’S KNOB, Va. — Katie Jo Lester had nine blocks as Twin Valley defeated Richlands in volleyball action at Twin Valley High School.
The Panthers won the tussle, 27-25, 26-24 and 25-18. Twin Valley (1-2) will hosts Grundy on Sept. 13.

Bryan leads Graham X/C
HILLSVILLE, Va. — Graham senior Jordan Bryan is warming up for basketball season by getting in shape, and running far.
Bryan finished ninth in the Carroll County Quadrangular on Wednesday, with the G-Men finishing third in the three-team field.
Danielle Gabe, who plays tennis for Graham, was 10th in the girls field, with the G-Girls finishing second to Grundy in the 3.1 mile meeet.
In the junior varsity event, Ian MacNaughton, the son of Graham coach Al MacNaughton, finished first in a time of 23:46. Amy Grouse finished seventh for in the 1.5 mile race for the junior varsity squad in 13 minutes and 17 seconds
