BURLINGTON, N.C. —
Ryan Jenkins went 2-for-4 with three runs and an RBI as the Burlington Royals handed the Bluefield Orioles an 11-2 defeat Thursday night.
Alex Llanos added a 2-for-4 night with a double, two RBIs and a run and Geoffrey Baldwin went 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run.
Burlington starter Leonel Santiago threw 6 2-3 innings and gave up just one run and three hits. He struck out five to earn his fifth win in six starts.
Bluefield’s Angel Cespedes (2-2) went five innings, but allowed five runs, four earned, and nine hits. He took the loss.
Michael Ohlman was the lone Oriole to register an RBI, going 1-for-4.
Bluefield (12-25) and Burlington (19-18) play the second game of their three-game series tonight starting at 7 p.m.
