BLUEFIELD —
First, the Class AA-A State Soccer Tournament switched days. Now the WVSSAC has switched sites.
Thanks to the effects of Hurricane Sandy, the tournament — which was slated to begin Friday in Beckley — will now be played on Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 6-7, in Charleston. The SSAC made the decision on Wednesday to move the tournament to Trace Fork Complex in Charleston.
Justin Freund, above, and Bluefield will play Fairmont Senior in the state semifinals on Tuesday after the first semifinal game, probably around noon. The PikeView girls will play the final game of the night in the second semifinal, also Fairmont Senior, probably around 7 p.m.
