G-Girls slip past Wave, Beavers hit 14 3s

BLUEFIELD, Va. — Karly Morgan scored 14 points and pulled down 12 rebounds, leading the G-Girls to a 48-47 Mountain Empire District win over Narrows on Wednesday night.

Liz Workman added 11 points and seven steals for Graham (10-9, 4-3), which will travel to Rocky Gap to face Bland County on Friday night.

Narrows was paced by Savanna Burton with 25 points.

HINTON — Even without leading scorer Anthony Eades, the Beavers just keep on rolling.

Michael Yost and Que Amaker canned six 3s each, as Bluefield made 14 from long range to improve to 15-0 with a win over the Bobcats.

Yost and Amaker each scored 20 points for Bluefield, while D.J. Edwards added 13 and Lykell Collier had 12.

Eades had what Bluefield head coach Buster Large called ‘a small injury’ but is expected back for Friday’s visit to Princeton.

Summers County (4-12) was led by T.J. Smith with 12 points and 10 from Josh Graham. The Bobcats will host PikeView on Saturday.

SHADY SPRING — Chase Conner scored 26 points and Jordan Meadows had four 3s on his way to 24, leading the Tigers past the G-Men.

Corey Coppola led Graham with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Fellow freshman Colby Hill tallied 14, while Spencer Sheets had 11.

Graham will travel Friday to Rocky Gap to face Bland County.

CHARMCO — The Panthers ran out to a 36-20 halftime lead and cruised past Greenbrier West.

Will Webster led PikeView with 16 points, while Tyler Ruble and David Keen added 13 apiece.

Josh Martin led the Cavaliers with 15 and Colby Ennis had 12.
