Roundup: Compton, Nester lead PikeView past Beavers

BLUEFIELD — Danielle Compton scored 15 points and pulled down four rebounds, and Hope Nester added nine points, four assists and three steals to lead PikeView to a 68-36 win over Bluefield on Friday night.

PikeView (10-7) trailed 13-12 after one quarter, but outscored the Beavers 56-23 from that point. Hill pulled down five rebounds, while Haley Sabin had three assists and Samantha Wood dished out two.

Bluefield (5-13) was paced by Khadijah Brown, Dazia Edwards and Tyra Jackson with nine points each.

The Panthers will travel to No. 1 Scott today, while the Beavers will visit James Monroe on Tuesday.

Meadow Bridge 43, Montcalm 36

MONTCALM — Kaitlyn White scored 16 points, and the Wildcats rallied past the Generals in the final quarter to pull away for the road win.

Montcalm (3-13), which was outscored 18-8 in the final period, was paced by Hannah Johnson with 11 points and 10 points from Miranda Kendrick, who fouled out in the fourth quarter.

Leslie Kelley added seven points, 10 rebounds and four assists for Montcalm, while Maranda Crane contributed six points and nine boards.

Montcalm will host Liberty next Friday.

LINDSIDE — Kelsie Mann scored 11 points, pulled down eight rebounds and blocked six shots, leading the Mavericks past the Warriors.

Melissa Johnston added 10 points, 10 boards and three blocks, while Jordan Page contributed 14 points and dished out nine assists.

Chelsea Duncan paced Wyoming East with 20 points.

James Monroe travels to Mount View today for a doubleheader with the boys team beginning at 4 p.m.

Fort Chiswell 43, Narrows 39

NARROWS, Va. — Savanna Burton scored 20 points, including the 1,000th point of her career, but the Pioneers used a fourth quarter push and free throws to defeat the Green Wave.

A short ceremony was held in the fourth quarter after Burton scored her 17th point in the game and 1,000th overall. The Pioneers took advantage, outscoring the Green Wave 10-0 from that point, going 13-13 from the free throw line in the final period.

Fort Chiswell, which received 14 points from Sarah Whisman and 13 by Amber Chrisley, connected on 22-29 in the game from the charity stripe.

Burton also had 14 rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocked shots for the Green Wave. Tiffany Perdue added eight points.

Narrows (6-12, 0-8) will travel Monday to Craig County.

Joe Hall led Narrows with 10 points. The Green Wave, which travels on Tuesday to Grayson County, played without leading scorer Chandler Burton.
