BLUEFIELD — Forecasts of a severe winter storm caused postponements around Four Seasons Country on Friday.
The Ned Shott Gym at Bluefield State will remain dark tonight, after a doubleheader with Alderson-Broaddus was postponed. The game has been rescheduled for Jan. 25, according to the website of the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Concord University’s basketball doubleheader at West Virginia State this Sunday has already been postponed.
The games will be made up separately, with the women’s team playing in Institute on Monday, January 25, at 7 p.m. The men visit the Yellow Jackets on Monday, February 1, with game time at 7:30 p.m.
Bluefield College’s scheduled trip to face North Carolina-Asheville Friday night for an exhibition game was canceled.
In Summers County, the Rogers Oil Girls Basketball Tournament will now take place on Jan. 18 and 20, according to Summers County High athletic director and coach Wayne Ryan.
The boys semifinals of the Narrows Christmas Classic have been postponed with no make-up date having been set. Graham’s boys game against Princeton was also postponed.
Friday night’s games in the Virginia High tournament were postponed and rescheduled for Monday. The consolation and championship games were subsequently rescheduled for Wednesday.
