Virginia Tech’s Cody Grimm and Sergio Render were named players of the week on Monday by the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Render had 10 knockdown blocks in the Hokies’ 38-10 win over N.C. State on Saturday.
Grimm, a linebacker, picked up his third Defensive Back award after he set an ACC single-season record with three forced fumbles, all of which came in State’s first four plays. He now leads the nation in that category. He finished with eight tackles, two sacks, a QB hurry and a fumble recovery.
