RADFORD, Va. — The Radford Bobcats scored 20 unanswered second half points to rally past Giles and capture the Three Rivers District title with a 23-19 win over the Spartans on Friday night.
Justin Gautier led Giles (6-4, 3-2) with 128 yards on the ground and a touchdown. Travis Robertson ran for 59 yards and threw for another 21.
Dontae Carter led the Bobcats (7-3, 5-0) with 92 yards on the ground, including a touchdown. Kevin Adkins added a 59-yard scoring run for Radford.
Giles and Radford will continue to play in the Region C playoffs starting next week.

PILGRIM’S KNOB, Va. — Gary Blankenship ran for a 24-yard touchdown and finished the season with 1,145 yards on the ground, but the Rebels were eliminated from Region D playoffs after Honaker lost to Haysi, also on Friday night.
Hurley (7-3) received a pair of touchdown passes from Austin Cooper to Dustin Waynick and William Rawlings.
Twin Valley (0-10) scored first in the game on a five-yard run by J.D. Street.

WAR — The Big Creek Owls lost its final game in school history on Friday night, a shutout loss to the Wildcats.
Big Creek (1-9) finished its 78-year history with a record of 433-299-25 in 757 games, with the Owls’ first game being in 1931.
The Owls will join Iaeger as the River View Panthers in the fall of 2010 at a new school in Bradshaw.
Tyler Bennett scored three rushing touchdowns for the Wildcats, and also returned a fumble for a score.

OAK HILL — The Red Devils waited until the last game of the season to win a game, finishing 1-9 with a win over the Golden Knights.
Mount View also finished the campaign with a 1-9 mark.

GALAX, Va. — The Maroon Tide got the win, but the Green Wave got the playoff berth.
Despite a 3-7 record, Narrows earned a Region C playoff berth in the postseason which begins next weekend.
