GREENSBORO, N.C. — For the fifth time this season, Virginia’s Sylven Landesberg earned ACC Rookie of the Week honors on Monday. The 6-6, 230-pound freshman went 7-for-11 and scored 20 in a loss to Virginia Tech Saturday. He also had five rebounds to help UVa beat Brown.
ACC Player of the Week Jeff Teague of Wake Forest scored a career-high 34 points to key the fourth-ranked Demon Deacons to a 92-89 win over North Carolina on Sunday night. It marked the second straight game in which the sophomore guard had scored 30 points or more.
