PIPESTEM — Graham and Princeton met on the links at Pipestem Resort State Park on Tuesday and finished in a tie.
The Tigers and G-Men each fired a four-person, nine hole total of 161.
Chandler Beavers was the medalist, firing a 35 for the Tigers, while Graham was paced by Hunter O’Neal with a 38.
Graham did win the junior varsity match by 23 strokes. Evan Smith led the G-Men with a 38, while the Tigers were paced by Bradley Brown’s 49.
Princeton (21-14-1) will play again Thursday at Pipestem with PikeView and Bluefield.

Volleyball
Marion 3, Graham 0
MARION, Va. — Nicole Branch served two aces and Chrystal Dickens added two kills, but Graham dropped a 25-12, 25-16, 25-13 Southwest District match to the G-Girls on Tuesday night.
Molly Dove, Kayla Muncy and Chelsea Gallinger had a kill apiece. Kelli Landreth also contributed to Graham (0-7), which hosts Grundy on Thursday.
Abingdon 3, Tazewell 2
TAZEWELL, Va. — Natalie Parsons contribued 15 service points, 14 digs and two aces, but the Bulldogs dropped a 25-15, 13-25, 25-21, 17-25, 15-12 five-match decision to Abingdon on Tuesday night.
Brittany Muncy (9 blocks, 7 kills, 5 tips), Cara Cecil (14 pts, 4 kills) and Krystal Bralley (5 blks) also contributed to Tazewell (1-4), which hosts Rural Retreat on Thursday.
Montcalm splits pair
MONTCALM — The Montcalm Lady Generals split a pair of volleyball matches in a tri-match at the MHS gym Monday night.
In the first game, Montcalm defeated Big Creek 25-11, 25-18. Niki Perry had 10 service points and four kills for the Lady Generals in the two games; Kayla Pennington also had 10 service points. Lindsey Hamblin added another four kills.
Summers County beat Big Creek in the second match, then downed Montcalm by scores of 15-25 and 7-25. Tara Havens notched six service points for the host team and Krislyn Bogart had two kills and two digs.
Montcalm (2-1) will return to action Thursday at home against Narrows.
Cross Country
ONA — PikeView senior Brent Roark ran all the way to a top-10 finish in the GEICO Classic Invitational on Saturday at Cabell Midland High School.
Roark was ninth in the field of 127 cross-country runners, with a time of 17:42. His medal was presented on the top-10 podium by the “Gecko” mascot representing the insurance company.
PikeView’s boys were sixth in the 17-team event. Jordan Weitzel finished 11th with a time of 17:47. DJ Coburn, a ninth grader, was 41st with a time of 19:40. Only five freshmen finished in the top 50. Ryan Farmer took 48th place with a time of 19:49.
The PikeView girls were 10th as a team, among 12 schools fielding 102 runners. Trish Galligher turned in the best time, 23:26, for 37th place. Each girl improved on their individual times.
PikeView will host its Panther Invitational on Sept. 20 in Gardner.
