EAST RIVER — Kristin Brown and Brittany Hayes scored a pair of goals to lead Graham to a 7-0 Southwest District win over Carroll County on Thursday night at East River Soccer Complex.
Stacy Fanning, Maggie Jones and Beth Mercke each scored goals for Graham (3-1, 2-0), which will travel Monday to Abingdon.
Jones also had three assists for the G-Girls, while Mercke and Megan Kaylor added one apiece. Hayes started the game in goal, but was replaced by Rebecca Thompson. Graham led 3-0 at the break. Maggie Mahood, Kristin Kelley, Kayla Martin and Nicole Sathre played well for the G-Girls on defense.

Graham 15, Narrows 7
BLUEFIELD, Va. — Kara Stutso collected a double, two singles, scored three runs and drove in three more, leading Graham to a non-district win over the Green Wave at Graham Recreation Park.
Kasi Green added three hits and scored two runs, while Nicole Branch was 3-4 with two runs and two runs batted in. Maegen Henry collected a double single, drove in a run and scored two, while Emily Hartley contributed an RBI doubles.
Shannie Miller, who earned the win in the circle, had two hits and scored two runs, while Liz Rasnake added two hits and a run scored.
Miller fanned six and walked just one to secure the win for Graham (2-4), which travels Monday to Bluefield.
Abby Davis led Narrows with a triple, two singles, two runs scored and two RBIs. Brittany Kast added two hits, while Cricket Blankenship scored a pair of runs. Kast took the loss, but did fan seven Graham batters.

GARDNER — Kaeila Pennington tossed a two-hitter, striking out seven as the PikeView softball team piled up a 16-1 rout of Midland Trail in four innings on Thursday at home.
Brittany Quick batted 3-for-3 including a triple, and scored three runs. Cara Whitlow also tallied three runs. Sabrina Slone was 2-for-3 and scored twice. Catcher Samantha Cottle batted 2-for-3 also.
Sasha Pendleton relieved Pennington in the fourth, allowing no hits.
PikeView (4-2) plays Oak Hill at home on Tuesday.

GARDNER — Kaeila Pennington threw a three-hitter and Brittany Quick homered for the second straight game, leading PikeView to a Wednesday night win over Mercer County rival Bluefield.
Pennington helped PikeView improve to 3-2, fanning eight Bluefield batters. Quick had two hits, including the solo shot in the bottom of the sixth inning. Samantha Cottle added three hits, including a triple, while Sabrina Slone tripled, singles and scored two runs.
Heather Brooks had one of Bluefield’s three hits.

ATWELL — The Big Creek Lady Owls got a complete-game win in the circle from Santina Keene, who gave up four hits, walked seven, and struck out three. She helped her cause on offense, going 2-for-4 with a double.
Stephanie Hutchinson had a double and a triple. Ashley Shelton, Danielle Cabell and Amanda Gray each added one hit.
The Montcalm hits came from Lindsey Hamblin, K. Pennington, A. Agnew and A. Lockhart.
Big Creek, now 4-3, hosts Bluefield today.

BLUEFIELD — The Bluefield tennis team swept a pair of matches from Shady Spring earlier this week.
Led by top seeded Paige Belcher, the Bluefield girls won 7-0 on Wednesday and 5-2 on Tuesday. It was much the same for the boys, as the Chad Brady-led Beavers defeated Shady Spring by identical 7-0 scores on both days.
