PRINCETON — Jake Lilly is defensive player of the week in the West Virginia Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as announced Monday.
The junior linebacker, a Bluefield High graduate, was a key cog in a Mountain Lions defense that held Glenville State to just nine points and a season-low 256 yards of total offense in Saturday’s 14-9 victory.
Lilly led all players with a game-high 14 tackles. He also broke up one pass and had one tackle for a loss.
With 65 stops, he is second in the WVIAC and 19th in NCAA Division II in total tackles.
