SUMMERSVILLE —
A cherished milestone for a high school soccer player is scoring 100 goals. Laura Hill of PikeView High School became a member of that fraternity on Saturday.
Hill scored four goals as the Panthers took a 5-1 win on the home turf of Nicholas County High. Her 100th came on her third goal of the day, via a 38-yard free kick that shot just above the keeper’s reach.
She is the first 100-goal scorer in school history.
Courtney Gray scored PikeView’s second goal. Sophie Klein provided two assists, and Madison May and Charlotte Webster had one assist each. Serena Mullins had the Grizzlies’ only goal.
Kristen Brinkley had three saves in goal for PikeView, and the Grizzlies’ Allison Givens had eight saves.
PikeView (12-3-2) plays at Midland Trail on Tuesday at 7 p.m., in the second game of a boys-girls doubleheader.
