MOBILE, Ala. —
The Bluefield State men’s tennis doubles team of Jacob Carey and Pitor Kruk closed out their play in the 2012 USTA/ITA National Small College Doubles Championships with a fifth-place match win on Friday.
The Big Blues tandem defeated Missouri State University’s Sergio DeVilchez and Luis Altimires, the ITA Central Regional champions, 6-3, 6-3 for the fifth place finish at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center in Mobile.
BSC’s Vishwesh Sinha, the Atlantic Regional champion was defeated 6-1, 6-4 by Ouachita Baptist’s Kenny Brasil on Friday afternoon.
Sinha came back to win the seventh-place match on Saturday morning against Drury University junior Andy Blair, winning 6-0, 1-0 (retired).
The championship went to top seeded Georgi Rumenov of Armstrong who downed second seeded Hans Hach of Abilene Christian 6-2, 6-2.
