McKenzie Akers scored 16 points and Hannah Preservati added nine, leading Princeton to a 45-42 win over South Charleston in a game played on Saturday night.
Princeton (5-0) led 31-20 at the break, and held on for the win.
Rachel Surface and Khadijia Payne scored six points each for the Tigers. Surface and Preservati each had eight rebounds. Lina Villanueva led the Black Eagles with 15 points.
Princeton will visit Huntington on Thursday.

PILGRIM’S KNOB, Va. — The Haysi Tigers claimed the championship of the Coalfield Clash Tournament on Saturday night, beating Twin Valley 61-36 with a defense that held the Panthers to 11 points or less in each quarter.
Haysi’s Tyler Tipton led all scorers with 16 points, and freshman teammate Hunter Sutherland made four three-pointers en route to 15 points. Peyton O’Quinn chipped in 13.
Senior Dalton Harris led Twin Valley’s scoring with eight points.
