MAN —
The Mount View Golden Knights scored the final two touchdowns on Friday night but could not overtake a lead by the Man Hillbillies, falling by a 20-12 score.
Dayton Griffin had two first-half touchdowns for Man, which claimed a 14-0 lead at the break.
In the final period, Laquell Martin ran the ball across from 1 yard out, and Tachawn Vineyard got the final points on a 5-yard pass from Teddy Hazzard. Both point-after attempts failed.
The Golden Knights went for the on-side kick, but the Hillbillies recovered and ran the last two plays of the game.
Hazzard completed 7 of 12 passes for 72 yards, with one TD and one interception.
Mount View (0-2) was penalized 20 times for 117 yards and their hosts were flagged 13 times for 70 yards. The Golden Knights rushed for 132 yards and Man ran for 172.
The Knights visit Tug Valley next Friday.

Westside 22, Wyoming East 20
CLEAR FORK — Westside jumped out to a 22-6 lead after three quarters and held off a furious rally from county rival Wyoming East to win the battle for the “Old Coal Shovel”.
Jacob Summe exploded out of the blocks for the Warriors with a 75 yard kickoff return for a touchdown to open the game.
Renegade quarterback Justin Cogar would be the star of this night, however, as he responded with three touchdowns, including two runs (4, 75) and a 62 yard strike to Hunter Walker. He also ran and passed for a two-point conversion, and tallied 163 yards on the ground and 108 yards through the air.
The Warriors added two scores in the fourth quarter, a 35 yard run from Aaron Griffith and four yard run from Summe with 2:07 left to play.
The onside kick was recovered by the Renegades to seal the thrilling win.
Westside (1-1) travels to Man next Friday, while Wyoming East (1-1) travels to Sherman.

PEARISBURG, Va. — The Giles Spartans dropped a home contest to Christiansburg Friday night. The Blue Demons got 178 yards rushing and two touchdowns from Joey Augustine and 136 yards and three scores from De-Quan Dreen-Goss.
Ian Mann scored both touchdowns for the Spartans, on a 32-yard run late in the second quarter and an 8-yard run in the final period.
The Spartans (1-1) play at Covington on Friday night.
