BLUEFIELD, Va. —
Emaleigh Gallinger scored 13 points in her high school basketball debut, leading Graham toa 53-26 win over Giles on Wednesday night at Graham Middle School.
Gallinger, the sister of former Graham star Chelsea Gallinger, also added six rebounds and six steals.
Karly Morgan and Taylor Williams added seven points each for Graham, which outscored Giles 22-8 in the fourth quarter.
Carolyn Springman and Erin Wilson pulled down five rebounds apiece, while Ashley Rasnake contributed six points and six steals. Wilson also scored six points.
Giles (0-1), which was paced by Tanisha Flinchum by 11 points, will visit archrival Narrows tonight.
Graham (1-0) will travel to Bradshaw on Friday to play Wyoming East in the Little General Invitational at 6 p.m. The G-Girls will play either River View or Bluefield on Saturday.

ROCKY GAP, Va. — Darian Thornton scored 18 points and pulled down seven rebounds, leading Christiansburg past the Bland County girls in the season-opener for both teams.
Shannon Stuart added 14 points for the Blue Demons, which made 23-of-31 from the free throw line.
Bland County (0-1), which was hampered by 33 turnovers, was led by sophomore Tori Smith with six points and seven boards.
Bland will visit Richlands on Monday.

ABINGDON, Va. — Josh Hess canned four 3s and finished with 15 points, leading Abingdon to a season-opening non-district win over the G-Men.
Abingdon (1-0), which finished with seven 3s, led 33-22 at the break, and played the G-Men to a 32-32 draw in the second half.
Tony Hood led all scorers with 18 points, four rebounds and two steals for Graham. Colby Hill added 14 points, three boards and three blocked shots, while Spencer Sheets tallied 10 points.
Zach Profitt added eight points, three assists, three rebounds, two blocked shots and a steal for Graham. Roman Workman pulled down five boards.
Mack Owens added 17 points and Chris Sigmon tossed in nine for the Falcons.
Graham visits Tazewell on Dec. 4.
