RALEIGH, N.C. — The Bluefield State men’s tennis team beat two regionally-ranked teams on Saturday. They took down No. 10 Virginia State 7-2 and No. 5 Shaw University 5-4.
The Blues’ Shikhar Kapur, ranked No. 9 in the region with a 15-2 record, won both singles and doubles, including the deciding singles match against Shaw. Dusan Zivkovic also won both his singles matches and teamed with Kapur for two doubles wins.
Freshman Justin House also won both singles and doubles matches in the No. 6 singles position.
Bluefield State (4-5) travels to play West Virginia Wesleyan and Davis & Elkins next Saturday before playing Concord on Monday, March 22.
