MORGANTOWN — West Virginia’s Da’Sean Butler is the Big East basketball player of the week. He scored 22 points in a win over Georgetown in his final home game last Monday. He followed that up with 21 points in a win Saturday at Villanova, including the go-ahead basket with 5.8 seconds left in overtime. he also averaged eight rebounds during the 2-0 week.
West Virginia opens Big East tournament play Thursday.
