PRINCETON —
Four different Princeton Rays had two hits apiece as the Rays rolled past Danville 7-1 to surpass the .500 mark Thursday night at Hunnicutt Field.
Kevin Kiermaier hit his first home run of the season, a solo shot in the third inning, to cap off a 2-for-5 performance. Bryan Fogle, Segovia and Felix Gonzalez each went 2-for-4 with Fogle notching a double, an RBI and a run, Alejandro Segovia an RBI and Gonzalez two doubles and a run.
Princeton starter Enny Romero gave up a run and three hits in five innings of work to improve his season record to 1-1. He struck out three to one walk and did not allow a Brave to get multiple hits while the Rays built their lead.
Danville starter Kyle Farrell scattered six runs and nine hits in six innings of work to drop to 3-2 on the year.
Danville (20-17) and Princeton (19-18) play the second of their three-game set tonight at Hunnicutt Field.
