RICHLANDS, Va. —
Devon Johnson scored 32 points and Ben Brown canned 20, as Richlands avenged an earlier 22-point loss with a 70-69 win over Marion on Friday night at Richlands Middle School.
Richlands, which lost 71-49 at Marion on Jan. 4, outscored the Scarlet Hurricane 17-6 in the third quarter and then held on for their first Southwest District win of the season.
Brendon Alford paced Marion (7-7, 1-4) with 19 points, while Ethan Richardson canned 18.
Richlands (4-8, 1-3) will host Honaker today, with the four-game schedule beginning at 3 p.m.

MADISON — Bluefield’s first ‘real’ road game ended just like all the rest ... with a win.
The Beavers scored 32 first quarter points to take a 32-10 lead, and never looked back to roll past the Skyhawks.
Anthony Eades scored 27 points to led Bluefield while K.J. Manns added 17. Lykel Collier finished with 13 points.
Matt Dolon had a game-high 28 points for the Skyhawks. He was the lone player in double-figures for Scott.
Bluefield (11-0) hosts rival Graham on Monday night at Bluefield State.

INDEPENDENCE, Va. — Ty Cannaday scored 28 points, including all four of Grayson County's 3-pointers, as the Blue Devils beat Graham.
Grayson County's Max Rodgers added 27 points and 11 boards.
Corey Coppola led the G-Men with 24 points, and Colby Hill had 10. Graham led 39-25 at the break, but were outscored 47-30 in the second half.
The G-Men will travel to Bluefield on Monday.

MAX MEADOWS, Va. — Six Pioneers scored in double figures as Fort Chiswell easily dumped the visiting Bears in Mountain Empire District play.
Cory Mabry led Fort Chiswell with 16 points, while Cory Gravley added 15, Nathaniel Worrell had 12, Brett Mabry and Coleman Thomas scored 11 and Daniel Hamm added 10.
Asher Dillow led all scorers with 25 points for Bland County while Darryl Clark added 12 points.

PRINCETON — It took two overtimes for New Life to escape with a three-point win over the Cavaliers.
New Life had just four players score, led by Josh Nuckols 28 points and 15 from Logan Cook.
Mercer Christian (4-10), which was outscored 19-16 in the two extra periods, was led by Jonathan Easter with 23 points — including four 3s — and 15 from James Beckner, who was 7-7 from the free throw line.
Caleb Janning tallied 12 points for the Cavaliers, who travel to Champions Academy in Richlands on Monday.

Van’s Brandon Elswick led all scorers with 37 points.
Matt White chipped in 15 points.
