HURLEY, Va. — Wesley Peck nailed a field goal with about three seconds left to lift Hurley past Twin Valley 34-32 in a Black Diamond District Tournament first-round game on Tuesday.
The Rebels practically shut down the Panthers early, leading 10-1 after one quarter. But Twin Valley fired back, taking a 26-23 lead after three quarters.
The leading scorers for both teams had 10 points — Nick Gibson of Hurley and Logan Cantrell of Twin Valley.

BRADSHAW — Nine Mingo County Miners scored in Tuesday’s road win. Ashley Curry and Kaeiria Hammond each had eight points for the visitors.
River View’s Chelsey Dobbs picked up her 1,000th rebound in the third quarter, and was temporarily injured on the play.
River View wraps up its regular season at Bluefield tonight.

COUNCIL, Va. — Lakin Keene scored 22 and Kara Goodman 16 points and 15 rebounds to lead Twin Valley to the Black Diamond District victory. Hannah O’Quinn had 16 rebounds and four blocks while Megan Meadows had 18 boards.
Haley Stevens led Council with 10.

PRINCETON — J.J. Easter and Caleb Janning combined for 48 points to pace the Cavaliers (13-8) on Monday at the MCA gym.
The Cavaliers will hold their alumni game at 7 p.m. on Friday night.
Players are expected back from the 1982 team. Next week, MCA will compete in the West Virginia Christian Education Association (WVCEA) tournament in Bradley.
