Beavers top W.Va. boys prep poll

CHARLESTON — The Bluefield Beavers (7-1) got nine of 10 first-place votes in Monday’s Associated Press prep basketball poll, rising up from second place last week to reclaim the No. 1 spot in Class AA. Wyoming East (7-2) was fourth. Princeton (9-2) is sixth in Class AAA.

In the girls poll, Princeton (8-2) is tied for sixth, and Summers County (9-1) was voted fourth in Class AA, prior to Monday night’s loss at Westside.

The first Virginia AP poll of the season is expected to be released Tuesday.
